Earlier
to the present picture of SHIV-SHAKTI, the artist had prepared 3-D pictures taking sportsmen, leaders and even animals as subject. But
when he thought of making quite a big picture, he tried to choose a subject
of great importance. At last he decided to make a 3-D picture taking Shiva
juxtaposed with Kali & Durga, who are the incarnation of Shakti and as
Shiva & Shakti together constitute the basis of Creation of the Universe according
to Hindu mythology. But cutting the pictures of Shiva, Kali and Durga into pieces with a
pair of scissors was not an easy task for the artist. He was afraid to do so
and felt guilty. Perhaps it is natural on the part of any sensible Hindu
to be afraid to tear or cut the pictures of Gods and Goddesses into
pieces, whom he/she worships. As such before cutting the pictures into pieces,
the artist worshipped Them and begged Their pardon. It was Durga Puja in 1996,
when he
started working. He took to vegetarian diet and maintained sanctity
of body and mind while working on the picture. The artist believes that the
work would have been spoiled at any stage of the preparation, if he was
not blessed by Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati.
Conclusion :
This work took about two and half years to be completed, because the
artist could not get sufficient free time to work due to his worldly
engagements. Otherwise a work of this size requires 4 to 5 months of continuous
working. The technique involved in this picture is kept a secret and will be
disclosed at an appropriate time. This work is not yet formally
exhibited till this day, October 2001.
